Donna earned a B.A. in Education from University of Illinois in Chicago. She began her first teaching assignment in Kindergarten at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Illinois. Later, Donna sought a teaching position in the public schools of the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, where she taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and At-Risk Pre-School children, ages 3-5. She then pursued a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Leadership from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. Donna continued to seek excellence in Early Childhood Education through the National Board for Teaching Professionals (NBPTS), and earned the Title of a Master Teacher. After having the opportunity to observe in a Montessori school, she became intrigued by the beauty and order of the classroom environment, as well as the self-directed movement of the children. Donna became AMS Certified in Early Childhood, ages 3-6, through Seton Montessori Institute in Illinois and implemented the Montessori philosophy within her At-Risk Pre-Kindergarten. After retiring from the public school, Donna was invited to teach at Mosaic Montessori Academy in River Forest.
