Maria Carandang-Ramos
Co-founder, School Director, Primary Directress
Maria earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the College of the Holy Spirit in Manila, Philippines. Upon her graduation, she became the Primary Directress at the Casa Montessori International in the Philippines. She then received her Montessori (Primary) training and credentials at the Washington Montessori Institute (AMI) in Washington, DC and the Assistant to Infancy Certification at The Montessori Institute (AMI) in Denver, Colorado. Prior to organizing Mosaic Montessori Academy, she helped found and establish a Montessori school in a western suburb of Chicago, serving as the Education Director while also working as a Primary classroom teacher. In addition, she has extensive experience working with adults with special needs in an independent living facility.
Marisel Rodriguez-Rozycki
Toddler Directress
Marisel Rodriguez-Rozycki earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Inspired by the Montessori philosophy of education, Marisel trained to be a Directress, received her Montessori Diploma in Assistant to Infancy (for ages 0-3) from the Association Montessori Internationale, and obtained a Master of Education in Montessori Education at Loyola University Maryland. She began working at Mosaic Montessori Academy (MMA) in 2008 where she conducted the Parent Infant Program and has been the Directress for the Toddler Community since 2009. Marisel and her husband enjoy the benefits of a Montessori lifestyle at home with their own infant.
Dawn M. Mulvaney
Primary Directress
Dawn received her Bachelors of Science in Special Education from Illinois State University in Bloomington, Normal, IL in 2004. She received her Montessori certification from the Washington Montessori Institute in Columbia, MD and her Masters in Education from Loyola University in Columbia, MD in 2009. Upon her graduation, Dawn worked as a Primary Directress in Boulder Colorado. In the summer of 2010, she returned to her home state of Illinois after accepting a wedding proposal from her sweetheart and now husband. She is happy to be going into her second year at Mosaic Montessori.
Mary Theus-Webb
Primary Directress
Mary Theus-Webb earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Marketing from North Central College (NCC) in Naperville, Illinois. She was introduced to the Montessori philosophy as she was searching for pre-school education for her son who eventually completed eight years of elementary education in a Montessori environment. She began her Montessori journey as a directress’ assistant to Maria Carandang-Ramos. After completing her training for Primary Directress at the Milwaukee Montessori Institute(AMI) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she began her teaching career and has since been a Primary Directress for over 20 years. She reunited with Maria when she joined Mosaic Montessori Academy in 2009. Prior to her Montessori career, Mary worked in the public school system.
